So, I guess I'm a scalper now, but I did not log in to this presale with that intention and want to write about how I got there.
PART I
So what had happened was, I freaked out.
I was logged in to Ticketmaster at 9:30amCT - February 11th.
The BeyHive Presale.
I took off from work and I was busying myself until around 11:35pmCT when I saw something terrifying.
A man's instagram story in the queue.
But, How?
I've been logged on for three hours and moved my mouse consistently! But sure enough I refreshed my page and was placed in the queue 10,000 ahead of me. But I knew what I wanted Row 1 seats because this was a staggered stadium. Tickets between 300 and 400 dollars (my budget).
That all went to shit by the time I got into the queue and saw those blue dots disappearing every millisecond.
I looked at the scale and tried to catch four seats together in my price range before they left, but they left and I was in the Saturday show, so I opened another browser and went to Thursday's.
7,000 people in front of me.
So, I thought fuck my friends, they are not under this stress, I am.
I'm going to see Beyonce. I got the first ticket I saw repopulate in Row 1. Section 441. A great angle! And it's $320.00. This seat is for me, I can sing protector by myself even though Shotgun rider ( two most wanted fan name) might feel a little weird.
But this ticket was not $320.00. It was $400.00.
Ticketmaster taxes and fee's.

PART II
So, now - I am going with a friend.
Two more tickets $379.00 each (really around $440 each after taxes and fee's).
Same show. Closer section. I was still technically in my original budget, but not technically with this now 'extra ticket' purchased. I thought I was going to resale the ticket for $400.00. That is what I paid for it.
Naw.

In order to get 400 - I had to list the price higher, because the taxes and fee's I paid to get the ticket are the same fees the platform charges to sell the ticket. Then there's this slap in the face offer they give you for less than half of your tickets worth to sell back to the platform. I felt like I was in a car dealership.
PART III
So that is how a pre-sale ticket can go from $320 to $475 with no one profiting but the platform.
That is how I became an unofficial scalper.
Also this is a call out! If you don't have a ticket yet, and are willing to go alone. I will sell you this one for $400. Back section but front row of a staggered stadium, Great angle of the stage! Just message me and if it's still available I'll transfer it to you. When I transfer the tickets you and I don't pay any extra fees!
In other news, Beyonce did add hella shows last minute to her limited state tour and with her winning three Grammy's off this last album, the ticket prices were around the same as Renaissance from what I remember.
I got back in the queue for the artist presale on Thursday to get tickets for someone else and Ticketmaster kicked me out because 'I already had tickets to this event'.
Shout out to them for that standard, I didn't know whether to be mad or proud. I chose to be proud. Ticketmaster also limited the number of seats you could get to just four during the presale. I don't buy concert tickets often but that has to count for something.
I can't wait for the world to see my outfit, but more importantly I can't wait for me to see myself at the appropriate weight to wear this pre-ordained outfit. I got three months to get right.
Thanks for reading my Ted Talk.
